Propidium iodide viability
The NucleoCounter instrument is an integrated fluorescence microscope designed to detect signals from the fluorescent dye, propidium iodide (PI) bound to the DNA of cell nuclei. The NucleoCounter family of instruments offers the total cell count and viability of cell samples (mammalian, yeast, somatic, sperm, fish and insect cells). In the disposable NucleoCassettes used together with the NucleoCounter a small quantity of propidium iodide is immobilized to secure ease of use and a safe sample handling.
